title: Packages What and How
---

Packages are collections of files and folders that are part of a website or program and serve a purpose. We're going to use CommandBox to download the first set of files to get you started in this class.

:::stepper
:::step "Open CommandBox to Your Class Repo"
To get started, navigate to the folder that will contain the work for this class ( your local repo ).
:::
:::step "Type `install uml-2480`"
If you copy and paste from here, pasting into CommandBox, like every CLI, might not be as simple as CTRL-V or COMMAND-V. You will need to right click in the CommandBox window. CommandBox will reach out to a package repository called `Forgebox`, find the package of software called `uml-2480` and copy it to the folder you were in when you ran the command.
:::
:::step "Look at the files and get started"
Type `LS` again and you will see a folder called `learnBoxLang`. If you run this command again, the files that are here now will be overwritten so careful if you make edits to them that you don't run it again by accident. Many times packages are installed in a sub folder to avoid that kind of problem but our package is meant to be the root of your class website so it is configured to install at the root level.

The actual content for "Learn Boxlang" is here in the textbook [learn-boxlang](../../learn-boxlang/index.md)
