# VS Code

VSCode is a powerful IDE from Microsoft which is used by millions of developers all over the world. It is the recommended tool to use in this class.

Installing VSCode

1. Visit [https://code.visualstudio.com/](https://code.visualstudio.com/) and download the installer for your OS.
2. Run the installer and then open the program.
3. From the left hand menu, click on the extensions icon ![](<../../.gitbook/assets/image-7-1.png>)
4. Search for BoxLang and then install the BoxLang Language Support from Ortus Solutions
5. You're done for now!
